Welcome to the homepage of Central Illinois famous racing team. Team Fastboys was established in late 1980's by owner Scott "Scooter" May who has 34 years of racing experience. Team Fastboys has built over 400 race cars over the years that have gone all over the country. In 2010 Team Fastboys will consist of 2 drivers Scott "Scooter" May and his son Austin May. The team will travel around Central Illinois so the younger May can gain more experience in the UMP Late Model class.
Austin May and Team Fastboys made the drive to the Peoria Speedway this past Saturday night. The crew was ready to get the new car back on the track after working hard the last 2 weeks to build a motor after the first motor blew on Peoria’s play day. This would be Austin’s first race in a Modified since running a E-Mod a few years ago and running in the Late Model class the last 2 years. Austin would start the night off starting 2nd in his heat race and jumping out to a early lead when the green flag flew. In the caution free 10 lap heat race Austin would take the #9A Kraft Chassis to the winner circle putting him in the redraw for the feature event coming up. Austin would draw a 1 in the redraw putting him on the pole of the 20 lap open wheel modified feature event. When the feature started Austin would jump out to a good size lead and would lead the first 9 laps. After a series of yellows and one red flag Austin would have to rejoin the field and lead them to green one more time. Coming out of turn 4 on lap 13 Austin and the # 2 car of Erik Bruce would get together with Austin going around and coming to a stop on the track bringing the yellow out. On the restart Austin would dive to the bottom and start making his way through the field. When the dust settled and the checkers waved Austin would bring the # 9A Team Fastboys Kraft chassis to a solid top 10 finish in the 9th spot.
